Summary
Jesse Bookman, a troubled New Orleans burglary detective, gains local fame when he foils a convenience store robbery. But when Captain Jones gives Jesse time off to celebrate his heroism, Jesse becomes the target of Lamar Davis, a Bocor who has been charging the elite of New Orleans to participate in elaborate Voodoo ceremonies. Lamar plans to use Jesse, a true hero, as his first human sacrifice for his demented ceremonies and as payoff for his own 'deal with the devil' for his soul. When Jesse's partner Mac McDaniels puts the clues together, he employs Jesse's father to stage a daring rescue, not knowing the supernatural forces they must face!
