Summary
Millie is seven years old and was abandoned by her mother. Agatha is eighty-two and has not left her house since she was widowed seven years ago. Karl, eighty-seven, is widowed and has been committed to a nursing home. In a moment of clarity and joy, he escapes. Brought together, the three embark upon a road trip to find Millie's mother. Together they discover that old age is not the same as death, that the young can be wise, and that feeling sad once in a while might be the key to happiness
