- After his daughter is murdered while on vacation in Rome, NYPD detective Jack Kanon travels to Europe in pursue of the culprit. Teaming up with the Swedish reporter Gabby Larsen, Kanon discovers that his daughter's death was at the hands of the serial killer who taunts the press by sending cryptic postcards to various newspapers
